Time for a quick intro to watchlists, a very powerful TekTag feature. We'll split the discussion into two parts to keep things clear. We'll start with using a watchlist to watch people.
The way this works is very simple. If you like what a user is saving, just add that person to your watchlist. Let's say I want to see all the bookmarks of a user named Paddy is saving (nice shamrock, BTW
). Find one of Paddy's bookmarks in the All Bookmarks page, then click on his username paddy and you will go to his page. On the right-hand side of the page you will see the Actions: Add to Watchlist link, which looks like this:
Once you click on Add to Watchlist, then Paddy is part of your watchlist. You can do this for as many users as you want - all of them will be part of your watchlist.
Once that's done, you will notice that all the users on your watchlist are listed on your My Bookmarks page. In my case, in addition to Paddy, I added the user jd42.
Now, when I go to my page, I see under TJ the links for Profile, Tags, and Watchlist on the top right (you can see Paddy O has a similar option in the screen shot above). I click on my watchlist link and, voila, I am taken to my people watchlist page. This page aggregates all the bookmarks for all the users I'm watching, and just like every other page, can be sorted as you like.
Of course, it also has an RSS feed. So if you want to, you can monitor the bookmarking for certain users using your fave RSS reader.
That's it. Next time we'll show you how to watch a tag.
